Custom Art Glass

Norma Mead's jewelry is exquisite.  She designs and assembles handcrafted fuse dichroic glass jewelry.  She cuts and assembles small pieces of dichroic glass, many of which have etched designs in layers.  She fuses them together in a kiln at about 1300 degrees.  After fusing she reshapes the pieces using water-cooled glass grinders and then re-fire to polish.  To create greater depth, color and detail the pieces usually has between 3 to 7 layers of glass.

She fabricates pendant bails of 14K gold-filled and sterling silver, and suspends the glass in the bail by inserting pins.  This technique creates a unique movement.  Her work incorporates Greek and Italian themes.
